Chocolate swiss roll- bakeitout
Hello! my friends here I am with another new recipe nothing but chocolate swiss roll(which is a sponge cake with filling). There are many basic recipes of swiss rolls but as I am a big fan of chocolate I always try to include chocolate in my recipes. Are you a chocolate lover ? then lets get started....
INGREDIENTS:
Sponge cake:
-1/2 cup all-purpose flour
-1/4 cup cocoa powder
-1 tsp baking powder
-1/2 tsp salt
-4 eggs
-2/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp instant coffee
-2 tbsp oil
Filling:
-150g semi-sweet chocolate
-1/2 cup whipping cream
-1 cup whipping cream,chilled
For decoration:
-cocoa powder for dusting
-30g semi-sweet chocolate
-2 tbsp whipping cream
PROCEDURE:
-In a medium bowl whisk flour with cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.Keep it aside.
-In another bowl add eggs and sugar.Beat it until it turns into lemon yellow color and foamy.Add oil and mix until well incorporated.Add instant coffee and then slowly little by little add flour to the mixture.
-Pour the batter into a baking tray lined with parchment paper and spread evenly into the corners.
-Bake for about 12 mins until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-Take another parchment paper and sprinkle with cocoa powder which helps the cake to not stick. Flip the cake over the paper.Remove the parchment paper which is baked with the cake.
-While still hot with the parchment paper inside.You should do it when it is hot as it cracks when it get cooled.Then let it cool completely(don't worry if your cake crakes as it can be covered while decorating).Then remove the edges buy cutting it off.
-In-between lets prepare the filling: Place chocolate and cream in a heatproof bowl and melt it in the oven for 1 min mixing it in between until they get melted and well mixed .
-In another bowl whip cream until stiff peaks form.Mix in the melted chocolate mixture.
-Unroll the cake and spread the chocolate filling evenly over the cake.
-Roll the cake back up.Refrigerate for atleast 1 hour before serving.
-Dust the roll with cocoa powder.To make the ganache on top for decoration simply melt the chocolate with same amount of cream and then drizzle the chocolate over the roll as you like.Let the ganache set for some time.An cut into pieces and serve.
